Since that time, we have focused our research on the field of environmental/gender-specific medicine and related fields. In addition, a project concerning analysis of the fundamental mechanism of intractable itch to develop new therapies for severe symptoms has been funded in part by MEXT from 2013 to the present. At present, many inter/intra-institutional researchers have been pursuing several collaborative studies. The main research groups are as follows: Biological effects of environmental factors (environmental pollutants) The relationship between environmental factors and their effects on disease-related genes Gender specific medicine For graduate students, we have a course concerning “Environmental and Gender-Specific Medicine,” organized by faculty members. Here are the topics of our research including collaborators. ① Molecular mechanisms of epidermal innervation ② The effect of environmental factors on atopic dermatitis ③ Evaluation of the effect of exogenous endocrine disrupting chemicals on the innate immune system ④ Molecular dynamics of escape mechanisms of mycobacterium from neutrophil killing. ⑤ Study of structure and signal transduction mechanisms of glycosphingolipid-supramolecular domains involved in adhesion, migration and phagocytosis of leukocytes ⑥ Development and applications of immunoassay for the quantification of oxidative stress marker, 6-nitrotryptophan. ⑦ Biological effects of metals during environmental changesn ⑧ Pathological effect of cigarette smoke chronic exposure on the progression of pulmonarys emphysema and regenerative effect of retinoid on the pulmonary alveolus. ⑨ Mechanisms of autoimmunity induced by drug administration ⑩ Development of new strategies for autoimmune disease therapy ⑪ Pathogenetical mechanisms of systemic lupus erythematodes (SLE) ⑫ Disorder of gene transcription and autoimmunity: epigenetic analysis ⑬ Effects of the sex hormones on DNA transcription ⑭ Proteomic analysis of the patients with rheumatoid arthritis and other autoimmune diseases ⑮ Pathogenesis of lymphangioleiomyomatosis ⑯ Biological significance of sexual dimorphism on the gametogenesis. ⑰ Biological function(s) of glycosylphosphatidylinositol-anchored proteins in mammals.otein in mammals. Introduction Japanese Index To Page Top Juntendo University Copyright @ 2011 JUNTENDO All Rights Reserved.
